<p>Kok opp margarin, sukker, sirup, vann, kanel og nellik. Kjøl dette ned. Rør natronen ut i halvparten av melet og tilsett den avkjølte væsken. Rør inn litt og litt mer mel til deigen blir passe tykk. Ta deigen ut av bollen og elt den på benken til den blir glatt og fin. Sett den i kjøleskapet til neste dag.</p>
<p>Kjevle ut deigen og stikk ut figurer. Stekes ved 150 grader til de er passe brune. (12-15 min).</p>
<p>For de som liker ekstra smak i pepperkakene, kan du godt doble mengden sirup og øke mengden med mel deretter.</p>

<li>Legg dem på plate med bakepapir eller i smurte 1 ½ liters former.</li>
<li>Hev under håndkle, 30-40 min. Sett ovnen på 225<sup>o</sup>C.</li>
<li>Pensle med vann og lag noen snitt med en skarp kniv. Stek nederst i ovnen, 25-30 min.</li>
<li>La brødene avkjøles på rist uten håndkle. Om myk skorpe under håndkle.</li>
